Nutritional Benefits of Banana Blossom Flower

When the banana tree stops producing new leaves, a stem develops that grows inside the pseudo stem, carrying the immature inflorescence until it eventually makes its presence felt at its apex.

Each pseudo stem normally produces a single inflorescence, although cases have been encountered where the pseudo stem has produced multiple inflorescences.

This, the inflorescence contains many bracts, which we sometimes call petals, and which contain between the rows of flowers.

As we unfold the bracts, we discover rows of small yellowish-white flowers.

These rows of flowers can develop into fruit.

The banana flower or inflorescence is fleshy, with purple skin, oval in shape, pointed in the spike.

As we open these purple bangles, the color of the bangles becomes a lighter shade and the core of it is yellowish white so to speak.
