How I fighting Depression & Anxiety. Fruits for mental health





Depression seems to making, more and more, victims in recent years, due to stressful conditions at home, at job or in educational institutions.
Intellectual effort, daily agitation, triggers a series of chemical reactions in the brain, affecting the production of the neurotransmitter, known as serotonin or the hormone of happiness. 

Serotonin, also known as the hormone of happiness, directly influences our mood, our sleep and many other essential functions of our body, including mental health. 
The high level of this substance implies a state of joy and the ability to overcome daily stress. 
A low level of serotonin may trigger depression and other mental illnesses, such as anxiety and depression. 
Happiness does not have a fixed recipe, besides sun cure, outdoor walks, pleasant activities performed with our loved ones, we can add some foods in our diet, that can help to increase the amount of serotonin in the body. 

Here are some of the foods that have the power to enhance the level of serotonin in our bodies: bananas, oranges, avocados, apples, cashew, sesame. 

Consumption of bananas can reduce the risk of depression. Banana contain an amino acid called tryptophan, which helps regulate the level of the happiness hormone, serotonin. An increased level of serotonin helps remove symptoms of depression or anxiety. It also contains nutrients with an antioxidant role that promotes dopamine release in the brain, another hormone that supports the well-being of the body. Thus, banana consumption could increase the body's energy, prevent fatigue, depression, and maintain an optimistic vision. 

Oranges, are not good only for our health, but also work strongly at the psychic level, helping us to have a more positive attitude, to be more full of life. Orange contain folic acid, which regulates the release of serotonin in the body. 

Apple are recommended by the high content of quercetin, an antioxidant that helps prevent neuro-degenerative diseases by stimulating dopamine production in the brain, the chemical in the brain that affects emotions, movements and sensations of pleasure and pain. 

Avocado fruit can be considered one of the best anti-stress foods, that contain essential nutrients, such as: pantothenic acid, magnesium, vitamin C and vitamin B. All these nutrients help the adrenal glands, which manage the secretion of cortisol, the major hormone of our stress. With a high copper content, cashew have an important role in enzymes activation, production of hormones and proper functioning of the brain. Due to the lecithin content, the substance that gives us mental strength and physical balance, sesame seeds are beneficial to the nervous system, being a real benefit in case of depression. 

This combination of healthy fruits is extremely  beneficial for our mental health.
